HSEF Virtually Surprises Teachers
Dec 15, 2020December 15, 2020
Since its inception in 2001, the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation (HSEF) has served the Hamilton Southeastern Schools community by providing classroom, school, and district grants annually. The Foundation’s mission is to promote a unified community committed to benefit every student, in every grade, in every school throughout HSE with a focus on enhancing educational opportunities, inspiring excellence and engaging the community to foster a legacy of achievement.
Grant awards historically honor exemplary and innovative teaching. HSEF seeks the best new ideas in education in any number of disciplines including, but not limited to; STEM, literacy, social justice, mental health, equity, fitness, civics education, special education and physical space. HSEF is proud to support projects positively impacting classrooms, school, and district initiatives virtually.
This fall HSEF embarked on something new, with building administrators helping HSEF organize Zoom calls to surprise HSE staff in their classrooms and buildings. HSEF is honored to award 23 exceptional grants during our fall grant cycle:
- 13 HSE locations are receiving awards (Elementary: 15, Intermediate/Junior High: 2, High School: 5, District: 1)
- Grant themes: virtual instruction supports, outdoor learning spaces, mindfulness, social emotional learning, connecting cultures, and STEM/engineering
HSEF is proud to partner with local organizations, businesses and private donors to leverage additional support for our schools. The Foundation would like to recognize and thank these generous donors who helped us extend our reach throughout the district:
- Blackbaud
- Church, Church, Hittle and Antrim
- Geist Half Marathon
- HSE Trustees Legacy Fund
- Tri Kappa
- Zimmerman Moeller Fund
