Dollars for Seniors Telethon Approaches
Dec 15, 2014A popular Fishers tradition is right around the corner! The Dollars for Seniors program is a flagship scholarship program organized by the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation. Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the program has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to support FHS and HSEHS seniors in achieving their higher education goals.
Historically, the objective of the program was to match students with scholarship support. The scholarships associated with DFS are entirely dependent on the funds raised through the pledge and telethon program.
DFS has recently expanded to include a learning component for students. Participants are now expected to study the needs of the HSE school district and the role of the Foundation in addressing those needs. It is our vision that students will gain exposure to philanthropy and community service. Seniors will then apply what they have learned through the well known telethon.
Interested seniors should visit our DFS FAQ page to ensure they meet eligibility requirements. Seniors can then enroll in the lottery selection from now through 9am on Friday, January 9 by clicking on this link. Students will be notified of selection on Monday, January 10 and begin preparation for the event.
Community members can watch for phones to start ringing on February 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12. Or get a jump start on making a difference by donating today!
